Altered Canvas - Assorted

Ok ok, this is not an original design. I made a similar canvas a month ago. I needed some pressies in a jiffy so I thought I redo this design as I love the girl in thhis stamp. Had some Sporean scrappers visit me and I made these quick canvases for them. They are a cool bunch and I decided to "customise" each canvas with a word that depicts them the most. Here they are in no particular order. Ladies - I hope you will like my humble offering.

Materials used:
4x4 canvas, Acrylic Paint, Stamp-it stamp, Stazon ink, KnCo chipboard words, blings, trims from local haberdashery.

Layout - Read {Clarissa}

I have been meaning to do the "READ" layout forever. I never found a nice picture to do it till now. As any mother, I do try to drum reading into the minds of my kids. But alas - out of 2 of my kids, only 1 loves to read fervently. I bought this kit from a LSS in Spore. Being the rebel that I am - I changed some of the elements of the kit. Here is the layout that I produced using the kit.

Materials used:

Scrapworks pp, MM pp, Bazzill pp, Daisy D transfers, Jenny Bowlin rubon and sticker, Thickers alphas and twill ribbon with words.

Altered Tags {Swap at SnC forum}

I made these simple tags for a tag swap at the SnC website. There were 9 participants and each of us would have to make 8 tags to exchange with each other. I love all these arts and crafts swaps cos eveyone benefits at the end and I love receiving things is the snail mail. Best of all - I totally enjoy looking at the art work from someone else. Hope my fellow scrappers will enjoy my tags as much as I enjoy receiving from them.
Materials used:
Chatterbox pp, Chatterbox transparencies quotes, Chipboard, Sizzix alphas, Glitter Glue, Ribbon, Lace trim and velvet ribbon.

Journal - Easter Kids Class

Clarissa's less "furry" egg.

Sean's "furry" egg.
Sean busy decoupaging his egg.
Clarissa having fun with hers. I noticed that she is frowning in concentration.
My kids had a great time making decoupaged easter eggs at Scrappingville yesterday. Both finished their eggs in record time and had so much fun doing them. It was great to see that they still enjoyed their arts and crafts.

She is one of the most meticulous teachers that I have had and I really learnt a lot from her. I'd like to think that Lene has taught me well and to Lene - you are always an inspiration to me!!! Here's a little tribute to you Lene. Thank you for all the inspirations...
P.S. Thanks for ideas for the canvas Shar...

Layout - Fun in the Sun {Clarissa}

I had these pictures of Clarissa playing in the pool. I was toying with the idea of using the KI Memories Lace CS as a background. Hence, I decided to mount it on a transparency and then start to embellish it. This is my first try and hope it didnt turn out too badly....

Materials used:
12 by 12 Paper Accents Transparencies (from http://www.scrap-n-crop.com/), Prima flowers, Blings, ATD stickers, MM ribbon and trims.

Layout - Will you play with me {Izzie}

I bought this orange looking boney toy for Izzie. She immediately took a liking to it and settled in to the sofa to play with it. I asked her if she would play with me but she totally ignored me and sat on the sofa and just monopolised the toy, refusing to share.
Miffed by her actions, I decided to snap her picture instead. For this layout, I kept everything simple - My journalling is short and sweet - "Izzie - will you play with me? No, Mine.' I think that is enough for this lo.

Materials used:
K n Co urban Rhapsody pp, KI memories Lace cardstock, ATD stickers, Hambly rubons, K n Co chipboard alphas, MM Funky vintage trims and gold butterfly from Yatie - thanks galpal...

Thanks Miss Sharon - we appreciate all the hard work!!!
Miss Kuna - great job - we know that you had loads to do!!!

The kiddoes with some friends.

Sean - waiting for the march past. Check out the ribbons on the forehead, stripes in the cheek and mismatched socks.

Clarissa - waiting for the march past..
The Red Indian Mascot for the Ruby Team - doesn't he look smart???

The Ruby Team in formation at the field... Go Ruby!!!
May the games begin!!! {with the release of the balloons}
The goodies to be won...

Clarissa on her way for the 100m ... You go gal!!!

Sean - about to fall... LOL!!!

Finally finishing the sack jump and going to the football obstacle.

In the 100m finals - kept looking and making sure that Nad kept up with him!!! Errrm Baby - its a race - you are supposed to try to be faster and not wait for your friend????

It was Sports Day on friday. Needless to say that we are still recovering from it. We arrived there at 7.30a.m. and the whole affair was delayed a whole hour and lasted all the way till 1.30p.m. It was HOT!!! And Clarissa was dehydrated and started vomitting at the end and we ended up in the hospital as she could not stop vomitting - the poor gal. Sean started a high fever in the afternoon - so I really had my hands full on fri.

Clarissa was disappointed as she did not win any medals. I was not fussed because she is already on Augmentin since mon and she is still not 100% well. Sean however came in fourth in the 100m Year 3 boys finals. I kept laughing cos he was more interested that Nad, his best friend keeps up with him - check the photos above. Through team effort, Sean won a gold medal for the Obstacle race.

Well done my little darlings. Dont worry about the winning - its the participation that counts. In the meantime - I will nurse my sunburns. Till the next sports day...

Accordion - Our Little Swimmer {Sean}

I made this accordion display for Scrappingville when Shar challenged me to use these mosaics. I had fun making this accordion and used simple techniques to highlight the mosaics. I mounted Bazzill pp on chipboards and started on the accordion. I fashioned some waves and tiles using monochromatically matching bazzill pp. Then I added 3d lacquer to simulate water droplets.

The mosaics - I placed them as frames and lines all where necessary. Added simple words that I cut with sizzix and painted and 3d lacquered again. To make the whole accordion album together, I binded the pages together with raffia string that I bought in Tokyo.

Materials used:
Crystalline Mosaics, Bazzill pp, 8x8 chipboard, sizzix alphas, Raffia string and 3d lacquer.
