Journal - Lunch fun with Shar

I finally caught up with Shar after a month and we chilled in the house doing nothing much except the kids playing together.  We went off to lunch at Alexis and this incident happened there.  I was chatting up with Dira and telling her that I used to call the plaits in her hair curly whirly,  "Dira,  I call this curly whirly."  Dira gave me a look and said very dramatically -" I call it a TOH-CANG." (actually tocang is pronounced as tocang but cos Dira was so dramatic - she said TOHHH CANG

This gal is definite good for a laugh anytime - Dira and all her words.  It really cracks me up how she puts things in words and how she speaks.  Dira - you are definitely too cute!!!

Thanks for coming over girls,  Clarissa and I loved hanging out with you all....

Journal - Fish from Kuala Selangor

I dedicate this post esp for Wati's hubby.  I hear he is a superb fisherman in his own right.  Hubby just bought these fishes from Kuala Selangor.  Its a fisherman's village and the fishes and prawns from there are very fresh and cheaper than KL.

This time DH bought loads of prawns.  They may appear small in this photo but bear in mind this bowl is the BIGGEST you can get in IKEA.  Its sort of a salad bowl size.  The first prawn pictures are fresher and retailing at RM48 per kilos.  There are 2 kilos in the bowl there.

Next we have the pomfrets which hubby loves.  Its not the normal white pomfret and I know it by a chinese name hence I have no idea what it is called in english.

The prawns at the bottom is cheaper at RM40 a kilo. Not so fresh but again sizable - 2 kilos there.  That definitely sums up for this buying fish trip!  Then,  there is a mackerel and a grouper.  Hope you enjoy the fishes Chris.

Layout - Daddy's Girl {C and daddy}

Made this lo today whilst playing with 3d lacquer, distress and Stazon inks.  Had fun and I am pleased that I have successfully altered the pp.  This lo is also for SK's June challenge - Bonding June - for father's day.

Materials used:
CI pp, 12 x 12 transparency from SNC,  3d lacquer,  distress inks,  stazon inks,  Bazzill and Heidi swap flowers,  Prima - Say it with crystals and Thickers foam alphas.

Layout - Sibling, Rivals {C n S}

Call me a sentimental fool  but I had to record this momentous event down.  The kids are always fighting and I am still focusing my attention on that rare moment of peace that happened a couple of days ago.  HEnce - I have decided to scrap it so that I wont forget.  See its pathetic,  one moment of peace and I am all over the moon about it.  Is it cos these 2 are fighting too much??? Hmmm.....

Materials used:
Sassa fras Lass pps,  Felt alphas from Prima,  Thickers foam alphas, Felt flowers,  Prima flowers,  Maya Rd chipboard buttons,  7 gypsies sticker sayings,  AL buttons,  Twill saying ribbon from Aust,  Pom pom trim from Lincraft - Aust,  Gold and Clear UTEE,  Maya Road clear journalling card,  3d pop up dots and embossing ink.

Layout - Capture the moment {S and Daddy}

Made this lo specifically for the SK June challenge -A Father's bond. I chose this picture as hubby does have very broad shoulders and I managed to find the appropriate quote for it:

"Father - There's no pillow quite as soft as a father's strong shoulder."

I was also very pleased that I found some quotes that hubby always say to the kids in the sticker too:

"Money doesn't grow on trees",  "When I was your age" and "Go ask your mother" - these 3 quotes are rally what hubby says to the kids all the time!

Other than that - he says nothing at all.  Hence I have included a small scalloped journalling note - to remind Sean that yes - daddy is a man of few words but you 2  have this unique bond.  Always look up to him.

Materials used:
Daisy D's pp,  Bazzill scalloped cs,  Mica tiles,  Kaiser scrolls,  Stazon ink,  Brlliance inks,  Daisy D's rubons,  7 gypsies sticker sayings,  brads, Utee,  embossing ink and 3d lacquer.

Journal - Peace at last-just for a moment

Yesterday as the kids were getting ready for school,  Sean had trouble with his laces.  To my surprise and delight,  Clarissa actually went to him and knelt down to tie his shoelaces. There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel.  Most times they are always fighting with each other and at each other's throats.  I do live for this moment - a significant moment - 2 mins of peace - it was bliss.
