Journal - Yr 3 Assembly - Glint of Gold

Sean participated in the Yr 3 assembly titled - "Glint of Gold".  He was an Egyptian working on King Tut's tomb.  I must say that being an Egyptian is def not his best look but he had fun in the play and the kids all performed beautifully...

Mummy was lazy this time - distracted by my eye surgery and other family affairs and I didnt make the costume - the correct gold colour.... Nvm - will do it better next year and I only made a small pyramid and drew the ugly looking Sphinx in the background.  The kids painted it and I quickly drew the outline to it - thats all.

Sean also performed the "Lion King" song in french but he was stading at the back and was being blocked so no photo op there.  I am off catching up wit Shar... Have a great day ladies...

Journal - Little Birdy Rescue

We were coming down the stairs one day when we saw this little thing huddled in fright in our corridor. Of course - we did the correct thing to replace this little birdie in our garden. However,  she tried to fly away and landed stuck in our pool instead.  She was at the verge of drowning when Sean gallantly jumped into the pool and rescued her.
Hence- we decided to buy a little cage and keep her for a day till she recuperates enough to fly off. I have to say that feeding her was no fun.  I had to stuff MAGGOTS - yes - maggots into her mouth... That was a major ewwwww... But I had to feed her cos I didnt want her to die and she refused to eat any seeds.
After spending one precious night with us - I noticed that she was trying to fly again.  And hence - I let her out on the windowsill and she flew to the neighbouring tree.  She was so happy and I was glad that she could fly again.  Little birdie - I really hope you can find your own mummy soon.... And thank you for spending 1 day with us and giving my kids such joy - was such a special gift to us...

Journal - A lioness in the making {Clarissa}

Clarissa had her hair braided in Phuket and decided to unbraid it at the end of her holidays.  I managed to snap the pics of her "mane" after all the braids were untied... She is def looking like a lioness with her wild looking mane!!!

Journal - Apologies - Bad blogger

I like to apologise for not blogging as often as I had.  I have been busy due to 2 things but mainly I did my 2nd eye surgery in Spore.  I must say that I am so happy to throw away my specs and I am now - not legally blind!!! Yippee - for that I am very thankful to Dr Jerry Tan.  He gave me back something very precious - my eyesight.  Its amazing how I can see things so clearly now....

I have been tired after the surgery and as a result - my scrapping suffered.  I have yet to do any form of scrapping and I intend to start soon.  Another major contributing factor to not blogging was my lappy dying on me... Yikes!!! I was so cheesed when it happened.  But DH was very nice and compensated me with a new IMAC!!! I am so happy except for me not knowing how to use this machine well yet... I guess I will need time to adapt.

On another front, I would like to call on my friends regardless of religion to say a little prayer for my niece who has a brain tumour.  She is currently suffering from deteriorating eyesight due to the tumour and I really hope that she will get good results soon whatever the neurosurgeons decide.  Thanks in advance for all your prayers.

Layout - Sweet Nature {SK Unik Challenge}

Clarissa has always been sweet-natured ever since she was young. She loves to share and has no qulams sharing her all her things. Hence - I have decided to make this lo of her for the SK challenge using this very sweet photo of hers. I have also addressed the subject on sibling rivalry in the journalling, the journalling goes:

You have always been sweet natured since young. I know you always try to give in to Sean. I know its hard to be sweet all the time. Don't worry, mummy doesn't expect you to be sweet all the time!

However - I must further add that my daughter is now tween - she is getting harder to handle and I just wanted to remember the old sweet natured her for a while and savour that moment for a while...

Materials used:
Autumn Leaves pp, Love Elsie fabric sticker, Sassasfras Lass pp, KI Cardstock, Thickers foam alphas, Queen n Co felt, 3d lacquer, Kindyglitz, blings, Maya Road bird chipboard, Maya Road sheer flourish and Maya Road sheer Journalling Cards.

Layouts for SK's first Online Crop

Made the following 3 layouts for SK's (ScrappinKids) 1st online crop in their forum. For you who are interested, the address of the forum for SK is:
http://scrappinkids.18.forumer.com/

Btw the layouts are in reverse order - ooops I made a mistake when uploading the pics...

My take for challenge no 3:

Use as many buttons as possible
Use as many flowers as possible
Use a 2 word title

Kindly note that I added both the glitter and 3d lacquer this am to add dimension to the lo. Not satisfied - I added some KnCo sticker sayings to the lo to make it complete...

Materials used:

KI lace cardstock, Prima pp, thickers alphas, Autumn Leaves buttons, KnCo sticker sayings, Kindyglitz, 3d lacquer and rounded gold blings.

My take for challenge no 2:
To use 2 photos
To use 2 brads
To use 2 chipboards
Another simple layout using Clarissa's pics.
Materials used:
Reminisce pp (Pink Heart Scalloped), KnCo pp, Hambly transparencies, MM brads, Maya Road flower button chipboard and MM 5th Avenue scalloped chipboard.

My take for challenge no 1:
To use 2 ribbons
To use only 1 photo
To journal on the photo
I had this photo of the kids and Izzie in the stroller for some time now - I thought I better scrap it. I must say that the glitter glue is an after thought today which I added on this am.
Materials used:
KnCo pp, BG sticker alphas, BG rubons, Scenic Route rubons, Green Grosgrain ribbon and Twill ribbon saying, 3d lacquer and Kindyglitz glue.

I must say that I had a great time during the online crop. It was both fun and challenging to come up with a layout every hour and within the specifications. I love online crops as it pushes me to finish 3 layouts in 3 hours. Otherwise I normally spend 3 hours mulling over a layout with no avail...

Layout - Soar {Clarissa}

Made this lo today. Jessy took this great shot of Clarissa doing a star jump dive into the water. I love it so much and I knew exactly what the title was - "Soar". Every mom wishes the best for their kids - my wish is that Clarissa will soar. I have tried to depict this in the layout and I hope that I have done this successfully.

Materials used:
Prima pp -"pow" and "roundabout", BG boxer commando pp, Scenic Route Ashville pp, MM scalloped pp, MM glitter sticker, Saying from Deja Views, Bohemia Barefoot Sunkissed Bird transparency, 3d pop dots and thin chipboard.

ATC's - with gesso, acrylic paint and glitter

I made these ATCs for an ATC swap at the SnC forum. The condition to fulfil for the ATC would be that we used acrylic paint and stamp onto the ATC. Hence I have decided to make these as I love the images very much.
Materials used:
Thin chipboard, Vintage images, Foam hearts, flowers and butterfly, Penny Black script stamp, Adirondack Acrylic Dabbers, Brilliance Ink, Stazon Black Ink, Blings and Kindyglitz.
